What were some of the highlights of your placement with us?
Being able to play the piano and sing with the children. Seeing them develop and improve their learning and behaviour. Spending time one-to-one doing homework at Lawrence House. Mixing with some amazing people that have now become my friends. Taking Lawrence House out for dinner on my own and spending quality time with them all. The list is endless!

What experiences did you least enjoy, and why?
Saying goodbye. Feeling that I could have done more but I am rectifying this by returning in January to hopefully spend more time with the children at Holy Cross and Lawrence House.

At any stage during your time on the program did you feel unsafe? Please explain.
No. I was comfortable in my surroundings and adjusted well to the Woodstock location.

The whole experience has humbled me and blessed me personally. I feel I have so much and am so grateful that I have been able to have this experience and make a small difference. It has made me reflect on what is important and re-evaluate my future plans.

I found this Program uplifting. I have grown so much as a person. Coming to South Africa was something I have always wanted to do since I was a small child watching the news and seeing the children. This experience has fulfilled me and made me realise that this is where I am supposed to be and that I can add value and use all my gifts and skills to my full potential. I built up amazing working relationships with the Projects and hope that this will aid me in returning next year.
